Wedding shower fun

This weekend was action packed and all about the wedding.  On Friday night, Teddy and I went on our 3rd dance lesson.  We learned some new components of dances we already learned, and then some new dances.  Afterwards, the dance studio was having a dance party which allowed us to practice what we've learned.  It was entertaining trying to navigate around the floor without crashing into other dancers.  Teddy was doing a great job leading me around, but every once in a while, he'd get this paranoid look on his face.  It was obvious we were about to crash into someone or something.  We couldn't stop laughing.  We definitely need to put in some practice before the big day!

Saturday Teddy and I had our appointment with Pastor to discuss the results of our compatibility test.  We were hoping that he wasn't going to have found any major issues, since we're only about 6 weeks out!  We had a great meeting with him and found out some great things about eachother and our relationship.  Pastor said we passed!

Sunday was a big day.  My mom and Aunt Diane (my godmother) threw us a wedding shower.  It was amazing.  They with my sister put so much work into everything from the invitations, to the decorations, to picture displays.  I was blown away.  They had a tea party theme, so the centerpieces were teapots with flowers planted in them and everyone got a vintage tea cup and saucer with a flower planted in it as their favor.  Here's a picture of the tables.

So many family and friends were there.  It was so great to see everyone, especially those that we haven't seen in a long time.  Here are some pictures with family and friends.

We ate a delicious lunch of Chicken with capers and a lemon sauce with angel hair pasta, and mixed veggies.  Since the shower was at Ruffled Feathers, which is where the wedding is, I was happy that the food was very yummy!  Mom brought a cake, that was whipped cream, with two layers of chocolate sandwiching a yellow cake layer.  OMG, it was so yummy!  (Mom actually left the extra cake at our house later that day - Tee hee, lucky us!)

Teddy and I got SO many gifts.  We were just blown away at how generous everyone was.  We got a ton of stuff off our registry and some very fun non-registry gifts that we just loved!  Here are some photos of Teddy and I opening some gifts.

Teddy's modeling some corningware nicely here

Here I am with the corningware!  I better get baking!

Teddy was very excited about our new toaster

Here's Sara dutifully showing off our China to the guests

Mom and Sara got us our pots and pans!  Amazing!  I can't wait to start cooking with them.

Here I'm opening our every day dishes

Here Sara is doing her duty again by showing around the every day dishes.  She's very Vanna White here :)

Teddy was really getting into this, look how intensly he is tearing into this gift!

Hmm, I look a little too excited with that rolling pin...Teddy better be good! :)

Teddy's excited about the silverware set from his mom

Aunt Diane painted us these beautiful boxes that have now found a home on our fireplace hearth

Phew!  And that was just some of our gifts.  Like I said, we were blown away!  Teddy and I are so blessed to have so many wonderful family and friends around us.  The shower wrapped up, and we packed all our loot in our car and mom and dad's.  They helped us bring everything in, and we all hung out on the back deck and ordered a pizza.  It was a nice relaxing way to finish out the day.

Today, Teddy and I headed downtown to get our marriage license.  Here's a happy picture of us before we went in, infront of the Picasso with his Hawks helmet on for the play offs.  Go Hawks!

I don't think I would have looked as happy coming out of that building.  We wandered all over that building with people sending us to different room after room of where to go.  FINALLY, we got to the right place, and luckily there were no lines, and we got what we needed and got the heck out of there!  So, we have the documentation in place, and now we only have weeks remaining until the big day.

There is a lot happening before that.  This coming weekend, Teddy's mom is throwing us a shower, then we have our bachelor/bachelorette parties, and throw in some family events, hanging out with friends, and the wedding day will be here!
