Medieval Birthday Celebrations

Well, this post is long past due.  It's been a bit of a crazy week and I'm behind in posting about the festivities from last Sunday.  It was Teddy's birthday that day, and we were celebrating his birthday along with his mom's birthday, whose is just 5 days later.

In talking about what kind of sweet fun they wanted to have to celebrate the day, they settled on Medieval Times.  It's someplace neither of them had been, and I don't think the rest of the family had been there either.  I know I hadn't.  So we were all excited about eating with our hands, and seeing a Medieval show.

The first fun piece was finding out what knight we were cheering on.  Our knight was the green knight.  So the family loaded up on some green flags and we wore our crowns proudly to cheer on greenie.

After a quick set of announcements from the MC, we were off to find our seats in the arena and find out more about our green knight.

Here is our view from our seats of the area before the show started.  The girl in the picture was our wench for the evening.  We were all starving and ready to start eating.  Don't we look hungry.

Actually, I think we look pretty excited for the show to start!

As the show started we were introduced to 6 different knights, yellow, blue, yellow & red, black & white, red and green.  We found out early on that the green knight was the evil knight causing all sorts of problems in the kingdom.  So, we were pretty psyched to be able to cheer for the evil knight.

We didn't get a great picture of him, but here's the best we've got.

Teddy got some other great shots of the show.  It was very realistic with the times, laser lights, fog and all.  :)

We had tomato soup, a half chicken, spare rib and baked potato for dinner.  The chicken was juicy and delicious.  It was kind of fun eating with our hands, but it sure was messy.

Unfortunately the green knight ended up being defeated.  Surprisingly he was killed off by the black & white knight that had already been stabbed about 5 times.  Hmmmm, something was fishy with that.  I guess they couldn't have the evil guy win, it was a family show.  But we were still dissappointed.

After the show we had to take pictures by the green banner to show support that the green knight was robbed!

After all the fun at Medieval Times, we headed back to the Beall's for some birthday cake, presents and fun with Emily and Carson.  Here's Teddy and his mom blowing out their candles.

Emily really enjoyed the cupcakes too.

Teddy and his mom had fun opening their gifts.

All in all, it was a fun day and a great way to celebrate Teddy and Gillian's birthday.  So, happy birthday to them both.
