Bushes, Wedding Shower #2, Birthday Party and Mother's Day

Wow!  I am so late with my weekend recap!  There has been a lot going on.

Teddy and I have these bushes along the fence line of our yard, and they were getting out of control.  We were sure our neighbors were pretty much hating us since they were starting to encroach on their kid's swing set.  Oops!  So, Teddy got some guys out here to bring them back into control.  Unfortunately right now they kind of look like a wall of sticks, but we know they'll come back and be much easier to manage.  Here are some pictures of the landscapers hard at work.  (I think they underestimated the size of this job...)

They're crazy right!  Well, here's the finished product.

Yes, like I said, it's a wall of sticks.  But, they're no longer out of control, and they'll come back.  We just have to stay on top of maintaining them at this size, because, wow, did those go crazy fast!

Fozzie was a great supervisor of the project.  (Actually, I just think this picture is too cute and had to find a way to include it.)

On Saturday Teddy's mom threw us our second shower for all of Teddy's aunts and cousins.  We had it at our house and she catered in food from Portillos and Teddy's Red Hots.  From Portillos we had chopped salad, chicken marsala, baked ziti, augratin potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, and chocolate cake.  From Teddy's Red Hots we got beef sandwiches.  (While Portillos beef is good - Teddy's is just awesome, spicy and delicious.)  All the food was delicious.  Here are some pictures of everyone talking before we dug into our lunch.

Jennifer and Erica are on the right - They helped out a ton getting everything ready and helping clean up.  Love you guys!

After lunch Teddy and I started opening gifts.  Teddy had some practice at this now from our last shower and really got into it from the start.

Yes, that's a bow tied around his head.  Believe me that's only the beginning!  He's so silly and can make anything fun, which is one of the many reasons I love him.  Ok, enough with the mushy stuff.  Here's more pictures of my my crazy future husband.

Those are some nice accent plates

Notice that the number of bows Teddy is wearing keeps increasing.  Well, he did most of that himself.  Although, I did help a little.

I just love the huge smile on his face in this picture.  I think he might be one of the first grooms to actually truely enjoy his shower!  :)

Somehow, ribbons ended up on his arms, which then turned into the gun show? I don't know what he is doing there.

Although I think everyone enjoyed the show.

We had a great time. It was wonderful seeing everyone. We just can't get over how many gifts we received and how generous everyone was. We are truly blessed.

After we were able to thank everyone, give hugs and kisses, we were off to our next event.

Stacy and Tom's son was turning 3 and she was having his birthday party that day.  So we headed over to their house and got there just in time for cake.  (I think I've eaten more cake in the last 2 weeks than ever before in my life)  They had a whole bunch of people there.  She even got a jumpy house for the kids in the back yard.  I have a feeling every kid in the family slept well that night with all the jumping they did for hours in that thing!  Little Tommy was having a great time with all his cousins and friends.  We were idiots and forgot our camera so I don't have any pictures, but he was so cute to watch open all his gifts.  He got some great stuff and was very excited about his fire truck and buzz lightyear.  I think Buzz turned out to be his favorite.  We had a great time hanging out with our family.  My cousin Scott was there and I hadn't seen him in far too long, so we had fun catching up and talking.  Overall, it was a great birthday party and I hope Stacy and Tom were able to get some rest on Sunday to recover!  They were working so hard.

On Sunday it was Mother's Day!  So, Teddy and I spent the morning with my mom and the afternoon with his mom.  Tradition for at least 10 years has been to take my mom to buy her flowers to plant in her yard.  So, mom came over to our house and then we drove up to Platt nursery up by Sara and shopped around for flowers.  Teddy and I even managed to get stuff for our herb pots, vegetable garden, and other flowers.  Mom was excited to find some great plants for her yard.  We then took her to lunch and had a lot of fun talking and hanging out.  I have a feeling, mom probably went home and planted most of her finds that afternoon.

After we brought my mom back to her car and loaded her up with her flowers, we headed over to Teddy's parents to spend the afternoon with his mom.  His sisters Jennifer and Erica were already there.  So, we spent some time talking and hanging out before heading to Home Depot to buy Teddy's mom her flowers for her yard.  She got some nice pots and flats of flowers.  I think she had fun picking out what she wanted.  Then we headed back to their house and started talking about dinner plans.  None of us wanted her to have to cook, so we decided to take her to one of her favorites, a Brazilian steakhouse.  It was amazing how much meat gets run around those places.  Teddy was stalking the guy with the "C's of meat" and I was enjoying the bacon wrapped filet.  Yum!  We quickly got stuffed full of meat, but somehow found room to sample a couple of desserts.  It was a delicious meal, and we all had fun.

We hope the moms had a great day on Sunday.  They both have been working so hard helping us in preparations for the wedding, throwing us showers, and just being so amazingly supportive.  We love you both so much and one day is not enough to celebrate and honor all you do for us.
